Spay & Neuter Price List
Cats and dogs need to be at least 2 pounds and 3 months old to be eligible for surgery. All surgeries include postoperative pain medicine (a $20 value) to go home with included in the price (excluding TNR cats).
All pets must enter the building under the direct control of the owner, in the form of LEASH OR CARRIER. All pets respond differently when under stress before or after surgery, therefore for the safety of all pets being transported in a carrier it is required to have ONE PET PER CARRIER. Pet Parents may be required to purchase a cardboard carrier if there is more than one pet in a carrier. We recommend that all traps and wire carriers & cages are covered to help decrease stress.
BACKPACK CARRIERS & ROLLING CARRIERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Parasite Prevention for Dogs & Cats
Keeping your pet protected from parasites is one of the most important steps you can take to support their long-term health—and to help protect your family, too.
Why Parasite Prevention Matters
Dogs and cats can be exposed to parasites year-round, even if they spend most of their time indoors. Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and intestinal parasites can cause illness, discomfort, and, in some cases, transmit diseases to both pets and people.
Our veterinary team recommends year-round parasite prevention to protect against both external parasites (such as fleas and ticks) and internal parasites (such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and certain tapeworms). Modern parasite prevention products are safe, effective, and convenient, helping prevent infestations before they become a problem.
Fecal Testing: An Important Part of Preventive Care
Not all intestinal parasites are visible to the naked eye, and many infected pets show no obvious signs of illness. That’s why routine fecal (stool) testing is an essential part of your pet’s wellness care.
A fecal examination is a microscopic parasite screening . Because the job of intestinal parasites is to live within your pet’s intestinal tract and reproduce, they shed microscopic eggs or cysts into the stool and the environment. These eggs and cysts cannot be seen without a microscope, which is why even pets with normal-looking stool can be carrying parasites.
Our fecal screening looks for many of the most common intestinal parasites, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, Giardia, and coccidia. These parasites may not cause noticeable symptoms until they have significantly affected your pet’s health, making routine screening an important part of preventive medicine.
By identifying parasite infections early, we can provide prompt treatment, reduce environmental contamination, and help prevent the spread of parasites to other pets and people.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends routine parasite screening, and many veterinary professionals advise fecal testing every six months, particularly for pets with ongoing exposure risks.
Protecting Your Entire Family
Some intestinal parasites can be transmitted from pets to people through accidental fecal-oral exposure. Young children are especially at risk because they are more likely to have close contact with pets and outdoor environments where parasite eggs may be present.
If there are children in your home, keeping every pet on year-round parasite prevention is one of the best ways to reduce the risk of parasite transmission. Combined with routine fecal screening, regular veterinary examinations, good hand hygiene, and prompt cleanup of pet waste, parasite prevention helps create a healthier environment for everyone.
Enjoy Every Cuddle—Without the Worry
Parasite prevention is about more than avoiding fleas and worms—it’s about protecting the bond you share with your pets and your family. By using year-round parasite prevention and scheduling routine microscopic fecal screenings every six months, you are taking proactive steps to keep your pets healthy and your home safer.
After all, nothing should get in the way of enjoying belly rubs, snuggles, and all those wonderful kisses—without the worry of hidden parasites.
This version is written in a warm, educational tone that is appropriate for a veterinary hospital website while clearly explaining why microscopic fecal testing is necessary and emphasizing the importance of year-round prevention for both pets and people.
Heartworm disease is a serious, potentially life-threatening illness caused by parasitic worms that live in a dog’s heart, lungs, and blood vessels.
It is spread only through the bite of an infected mosquito —dogs cannot catch heartworms directly from other dogs.
What is Heartworm Disease?
When an infected mosquito bites a dog, it deposits tiny heartworm larvae into the skin. Over the next 6–7 months, these larvae mature into adult worms that can grow up to 12 inches long. Adult heartworms live in the heart, lungs, and surrounding blood vessels, where they interfere with normal blood flow and can cause permanent damage.
If left untreated, heartworm disease can lead to:
- Coughing
- Fatigue or reluctance to exercise
- Difficulty breathing
- Weight loss
- Heart failure
- Severe lung disease
- Death
Some infected dogs may not show signs until the disease has become advanced.
How to Prevent Heartworm Disease
The good news is that heartworm disease is almost entirely preventable.
1) Give Heartworm Prevention Year-Round
- Monthly chewable tablets
This medication eliminates heartworm larvae before they develop into adult worms.
2) Test Annually
Even dogs on regular prevention should be tested once a year to ensure the medication has been effective and to detect any infections early.
